The Lavender Project

I have been working with this project for a while, it's really interesting and the people are great, I had been wanting to be part of a project like this for a long time, a social enterprise, improving a community and lives.
At the Lavender Project, Rancho La Colorada, in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico, they grow lavender and then make products from it; soap, sachets, eye pillows, bath salts, honey and soon, lip balm, lotion bars and more. Most of the workers are women, amazing women with tons of kids and husbands gone to the USA searching for opportunities, but not always finding them and sometimes, never going back home.
This brave women have taken a step forward for their community and work hard on what they believe in and enjoy making, they have embraced their creativity and their faces light up as they acknowledge the possibilities of their trades. Non of them know how to drive and only a couple of them have the most basic knowledge of how to use a computer, which they learned since they understand is a necessity if they want their product to make it somewhere. "Everything is a lesson, life is about learning" they tell me everyday.
